Both teams capped a very strong weekend across our program who had multiple teams compete in both events.

Down in Richmond for the girls showcase weekend of the Jefferson Cup, the HYS 06 Lightning Black was one of five teams competing in four age groups. Only losing one game in the group stage, they secured the championship after a nail-biting PK shootout where they won 4-3.

Both the HYS 05 Force and MSI 05 White finished the weekend with 6 GF, with Force going undefeated against quality teams. They both finish fourth and fifth in their groups respectively, a good result in their 12-team brackets.

The HYS 04 Crush also competed this weekend. Though results didn’t favor the group, their play increasingly improved over their three games and will adequately prepare them for quality games coming up in CCL play.

In the top bracket of the U18 age group, the HYS 03 Hurricanes Black went undefeated and never conceded a goal throughout the entire weekend. These games are seen as preparation for their run at Regionals this June after becoming State Cup Champions in the fall.
