NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
February 4, 2015
Record number of players coached by Total Futbol to join NCAA Programs for Fall 2015. Nineteen institutions are represented as largest-ever class looks ahead to collegiate chapter.
Total Futbol is proud to announce its Class of 2015, currently featuring 28 players headed to their respective NCAA women’s soccer teams starting this fall. Since 2012 alone, Total Futbol has helped more than 54 players achieve the dream of playing college soccer but the 2015 graduating class sets a single-year record.
The members of Total Futbol’s 2015 (U18) graduating class will represent 19 institutions contending in 13 different athletic conferences. A majority (53%) of the players are heading to two of the most competitive conferences in the NCAA: 11 players will play in the prestigious ACC and another four enter the SEC. 96% of players will compete in Division I programs.
Fifteen players (54%) head to teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2014 (Florida, Harvard, Kentucky, Penn State, UCF, Virginia, Virginia Tech), several of them advancing deep into group play. Eleven players (39%) head to teams that were either Conference Champions (Florida, Harvard, Howard, Penn State), or Runners-Up (Kentucky, Lipscomb, St. John’s, VCU) in 2014.
The largest contingent of players to represent one program includes a quartet headed to 2014 NCAA College Cup Finalist side Virginia in forward Ayan Adu (Ashburn, VA), midfielder Alex Connell (Norfolk, VA), forward Mia Hoen-Beck (Vienna, VA) and midfielder Lorato Sargeant (Great Falls, VA).
“We are very proud of the Class of 2015, which has shown outstanding commitment and determination for many years,” said Nadir Moumen, Head Coach since 2011 of the McLean ‘96/‘97 Player Pool, which has won the ECNL’s Mid-Atlantic Conference for the last three years in a row while picking up two Virginia State Cup titles (U16 and U18) along the way. “They have excelled both as a team and individually and I am excited to watch them shine at the next level.”
